Landed in Beijing today at 7:00AM after not too much sleep on the plane. Picked up by dad’s friend Khun Songchai, who is Chinese, but speaks amazing Thai!
Had a great breakfast with a list a food items I need to commit to memory.
虾饺子 xia1 jiao3 zi – Thai’s call it Hakao
香芋卷 xiang1 yu4 juan3 – Sweet bean roll
油条 you2 tiao2 – Fried dough
豆腐脑 － dou2 fu3 nao3
Khun Songchai then treated me to the greatest 烤鸭! What a fantastic way to start my stay in Beijing. The มัน portions of the duck literally “melt” in your mouth. Incredible! I had quite a long nap afterwards – not your regular “food coma” but actually a “Kaoya Coma” to be specific. The kind where you sleep for 4 hours because you had too much duck XD
